Back in 2017, shortly after I got back from Afghanistan, I composed a setting of Psalm 120 in German for TTBB men's choir as a way of working through some of the emotions and thoughts I was having.

The text is from Psalm 120:

Es wird meiner Seele lang,

zu wohnen bei denen,

Frieden hassen

Ich halte Frieden

aber wenn Ich rede

so fangen sie Krieg an

Too long have I lived

among those who hate peace

I am for peace

but when I speak

they are for war
