ABOUT ME

Born and raised in lovely Southwestern Michigan, I have been playing brass instruments since I was big enough to hold them! Before graduating high school, I was already performing regularly with professional ensembles including the Battle Creek Symphony Orchestra on tuba. During my senior year of high school, I auditioned for and was accepted into the United States Army Band program as a tubist.

During my time in the Army, I served as staff arranger and music librarian with each of the bands I served in. While I was in, I also attended the University of Alabama in Huntsville where I majored in Music Performance. I have had the opportunity to perform with the Grammy® Award-winning Rebirth Brass Band as well as the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra, Seoul Philharmonic, Twickenham Winds, and numerous other professional groups.

My compositions have been premiered by the Latvian National Guard Orchestra as well as several military ensembles, and my arrangements make up a fair amount of Army band repertoire.

I continue to serve with the 126th Army Band (Michigan National Guard) where I play tuba in the concert and marching bands and trumpet, trombone, and vocals in the Jazz Combo. I am also finishing a Music Education degree at Grand Valley State University where I am a member of the tuba studio and composition studio and I write drill and arrange for the Laker Marching Band. I enjoy arranging, composing, and playing goalie in the local men's ice hockey league.
